Bear and (new pup!!) Chief waiting to see if we brought Sooki with us...
(More under the cut!)
We did--BOOM! They went nuts. ^-^
Three-way nose booping! Argh. ^-^
And they're off!
Sooki had a great time at Grandpa's house and we had an amazing anniversary weekend ♥ He surprised me with my favourite thing in the world--swimming!! He rented us a lovely hotel room an hour away that has a huge, heated indoor pool and it was just the best. Swam for hours and it turns out I can still do backflips, too. Got to wear a brand new bikini that didn't have a chance to shine this summer, yay! (It's very 'Saved by the Bell', heh.)
We had a king-size bed (soo big! As nice as it was I think doing the laundry for it would be a pain in the butt, but it's always a nice vacation bonus) and he reserved us a late table at a lovely (family owned and operated) Italian restaurant that we've been wanting to try since moving out this way. It was delicious. I got the chicken cardinale (chicken with an eggplant topping with cheese and marinara sauce, served with roasted potato and vegetables) which I'd never tried before and really enjoyed and he got good ol' chicken parmigiana with pasta (and I didn't ask but he cleaned his plate so I'm pretty sure he liked it *lol*). I had a caesar salad to start and he got the cream of broccoli soup (both good--I tried his soup, mmm) and we shared an order of bruschetta and for dessert we split a piece of Bailey's cheesecake. Yum! We also had a bottle of Mateus. ;) (We hardly ever drink, max six times a year so it feels like a special thing now ♥)
And of course I couldn't sleep in in a strange place so he went outside to watch the sunrise with me at 5:30 AM ^-^ it was so beautiful. I spent today catching up here and on the cleaning/laundry and now we're getting ready to go in and relax with a movie or a show (we've got two on the go). For dinner I just nibbled on leftovers but I made him ultimate whistle dogs (jumbo hot dogs with cheese, chilli and turkey bacon). Fast and easy clean up! Not bad for a Monday.
