I swear there is roast beef hiding under that gravy *lol* and MAN it was so good. She even made turnips for me. :>
And you don't leave Mama's empty handed...

The container on top is her homemade apple crumble ^-^ mmm. Everything she makes is so freaking good. I don't know how it's possible but I swear even just buttered toast is a divine experience if she makes it for you, so a meal like this had us both in happy food comas for the rest of the night. Thank you, Mama! I wish I had her knack for cooking (and baking) but then I wonder if maybe it's a mom thing? I don't know but her food is always magic.
Besides stuffing ourselves stupid we just talked and shared some huge laughs (did you hear us, America?? We can see you from her place *lol*) and I got to play with their three adorable rescue cats (one of them is going on 23 years old, can you believe it? Sweet Siddy ♥) who are all happy (and BIG...) and thriving. So good to see. :)
Their house is so beautiful, some of you may remember seeing it last winter? She goes all out for Christmas and makes it so lovely. The house is from the 1860's and has two fireplaces and a real reading room built into the living room (they don't make 'em like that anymore)... Like a step back in time and yes, she loves that whole time period and decorates in that fashion. I used to be terrified of all her old Victorian paintings and porcelain dolls...but I'm over it now. I've seen the real horrors of the world now and I'd take a possessed doll over real-life crap any day *lol*. I just have a new appreciation for it now, I guess. We're going back there soon so I'll take some new photos then. :)
Our Hallowe'en/Samhain was quiet... It's the end of the year for us and we said special goodbyes under the moon to Leela and Piglet and it was a hard night...but we go on.
Happy Monday. ♥
