The Most Depressing Movie Ever Made...

and if you don't think Requiem for a Dream (2000) is the most depressing movie ever then I'm going to assume you haven't seen it. o_O

I thought since it'd been twenty years I could handle it again...NOPE! I was a basket case. I think Ellen Burstyn won for best actress and she really deserved it. They were all incredible, even Jared Leto. Jennifer Connelly was perfect (her performance) and gorgeous in it...and I think her hair style is the one I will go for. Marlon what a different role for him. He broke my heart in this, too.

It's so sad because it's so real. Nothing fantastical happens...but this movie plays out everyday for millions of people. I really believe they should make kids watch this in grade 7 or 8. It's so raw and honest. It doesn't need to have a clear "bad guy" because it goes much deeper than what a person can do to him or herself, but it never feels preachy. So disturbing but so well done.

*Photos of her hair under the cut 'cause I know a few of you are curious :>

Business upstairs, party in the basement!!
