It was abysmal.
Martin Scorcese should be ashamed of himself for being a part of this. -_-
I'm sorry if you love this movie, but we did NOT... So I'll put the review under a cut so you can just skip if you like.
IT WAS GARBAGE.
Two and a half GD hours of CROOKED, DIRTY COPS playing their stupid little greedy money games and killing with ~wild abandon~ the entire time.
It's basic yet somehow confusing. Boring. Way too much talking and then they try to make up for it with LOUD NOISES!!! Come on... -_-
If it weren't for Vera Farmiga being a total babe I would've fallen asleep halfway through. ("In French she would be known as La Renard...") But even she couldn't save this.
I can't stand Matt Damon OR Leo DiCaprio (I'm from the generation where he was a "heartthrob" and every dumb girl I knew had her walls painted with his totally average face and it makes me ill to even remember it...) so THAT didn't help things for me.
There was no suspense and we couldn't have cared less about any of the characters.
They say the n-word at the one-minute and thirty second mark. -_- (More "casually racist" remarks made throughout which I know is supposed to show what disgusting pigs they are...but there are other, less lazy/offensive ways to do that.)
They set the movie in Boston. NOT A SINGLE ACTOR WAS CAPABLE OF DOING A BOSTON ACCENT.
Martin Sheen was good. Mark Wahlberg was good. (Already mentioned Vera, first. <3)
Would not watch again. -_-
