One Love World

They say this all the time here...but will anything change?

Thoughtful piece from here the CBC about how the best way to prevent/curb future pandemics is to keep our land healthy and full of trees. It's also the best way to fight climate change, as they figured out and actually DID SOMETHING ABOUT, in Ethiopia (link to BBC).

They've cut down all the little forest patches like we have around here the last two years. I can't even go for a drive without crying...all those murdered trees in piles across the fields. *deep sigh* They've been removed to create more farmland, but that's really not that much of a comfort. Actually feels like greed, which is root of many decisions. It's better than a Vinyl Village, though...

How can I be heard on this? To whom would I send a letter? Like, who actually decides that stuff is what I'm getting at. Who could make the change happen? There is someone sitting in a chair somewhere that could fix this problem with a pen stroke.

Let's make noise for the trees. ...They do literally keep us and the planet alive.

Rainbow rain

Rain Day!!

It's warm (8C, but no wind!) and grey and it's been drizzling off and on since I got up. Beautiful! These are the days to murder the to-do list. Made a huge pot of pasta with meat sauce last night so I don't need to worry dinner, either!

I don't have much else to say right now except can you believe my birthday balloon is still floating around?!

It's been nine weeks!! Amazing.

Hope you're having a good morning! :)

This exact thing happened to us at Upper Canada Village!!

The last time we took the guided tour at UCV we were SHOCKED by a lot of the remarks made by the in-character guide. (Shocked, not offended! We understand it's like a play. ♥) Let's just say religious tensions were high in the nineteenth century, omg o_O and of course we could NOT keep straight faces because just WoW no one speaks that way anymore and it was uncomfortable and that always gives me giggles (isn't that a fun little character trait?! Argh...) but whatever we got through it and it was entertaining as hell!

Also, Kate McKinnon is A+ in this!! But like when she is not. ^-^ (And I'm half Italian so I really appreciate Kenan's reaction *LOL*)

BW rain

STILL pouring...!

Wow we are getting slammed with the rain today! I love rain but over 14 hours straight now... I didn't get my long walk with Sooki. :\ We need it so it's all good but I hope we'll get a break tomorrow so I can make it up to Soo.

Fed my guy the leftover pasta (rigatoni!) tonight and I just pecked at things. No appetite today for some reason? But I did just eat all this cucumber and a few naan with that artichoke dip because I just knew I should.

If it's going to keep raining I think we should try to get to one of the horror movies we just got. It's Friday and a short day for him tomorrow so he already decided he's staying up a bit late. I've got laundry going so I'll need to be up until at least 11:30 anyway.

Got through the to-do list today (felt like a struggle?!) and studied the ASL book for an hour in the afternoon and my guy will catch up to me this weekend.

My stepdad turned 75 today and was/is pretty disappointed about the lockdown. :\ We assured him we'd celebrate when it's possible but...75's a big one. Wish we could've made a big deal of it today.
