Before I say anything else I want to say how sincerely grateful we were for this meal. So many people are starving in this world, and we aren't. I've faced scary times financially but there was always food on my table so I'm really not complaining at all when I simply say this isn't the meal I had planned for tonight...
But the meat went bad.
It should not have happened! We bought it and brought it home immediately to portion up and freeze into one-pound bags, and I only took it out last night (late, before bed) to defrost for today's dinner.
So very disappointing. We went to a new (to us) grocery store this past weekend because they're lauded as having the best meat...wrong. This is more confirmation that we should never, ever take food advice from anyone we know. They all mean well but this happens every single time without exception.
So, tonight's dinner was supposed to be beef stroganoff. Been collecting the ingredients for that meal for two weekends of shopping now o_O and the freaking meat went bad. It was going to be lovely, damn it!!
